Installationen 09.-15.06.2006 / Bollag Areal, Basel
For one week Showroom changed the usual use and meaning of the courtyard belonging to an artists studio building in Basel from a casual parking and every kind-of-use place to an art space and installation playground. Bollag is like an island lying amidst the industrial area of Novartis pharmaceutical company. Artists from Switzerland and Germany constructed works dealing with the formal and social aspects of the area, which reflected the political and economical situation of the surrounding space. Showroom1 was developed in cooperation with the arts organizations Planet 22, Geneva, Marks Blond Project, Bern and Amberg & Marti, Zurich which organized a video-art screening, showing video works from young European and American artists.
